Festive Glow Series – Part 1
Hello Girls! Happy Diwali!! 🙂
It’s the festive season again, that time of the year I look forward to the rest of the year! October to December are the most lovable months in my calendar! Well for starters, the public holidays, the festivals and Poojas, then there are the weddings, housewarmings, engagements, Christmas, new year, etc.
So this is the time to be looking and feeling our best! It is the time to get into shape to wear our favorite outfits, care for our skin so that we have fresh, glowing and healthy skin and luscious hair.
This is my first of a series of posts on festive season beauty care tips and tricks! I know this is a bit late! I have been intending to post this Festive Glow series since mid October but was completely tied up at work 🙁
In this post, I will be telling you about homemade hair masks and potions to keep your hair lustrous and strong during this time!
Banana Honey Hair Mask
You will need:
1 to 2 Over-ripe bananas depending on the length of your hair
2 teaspoon coconut oil
2 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon honey
What to do:
- Blend the bananas till they are a smooth paste. Make sure there are no tiny pieces of banana left. I remember I had tried this once and was in a hurry to blend an apply the pack so I had cut corners in the time I had invested in blending it and I really regretted it later on as these tiny pieces just won’t come off from the hair even after washing.
- Once the bananas are smoothly blended, add in the oils and honey and blend once more.
- Apply this mask to your hair and let it sink in and get absorbed for 10-15 mins.
- Rinse with warm water and repeat if you feel any tiny pieces are still in the hair.
Avocado and Banana Hair Mask
You will need:
1 Over-ripe banana
½ Over-ripe avocado
2 tablespoon yoghurt
1 teaspoon coconut oil
What to do:
- Blend and avocados till they are a smooth paste. Make sure there are no tiny pieces of banana left. Avocados are bit little expensive but excellent for the hair. Avocado paste nourishes the hair and makes it silky smooth and strong too. I am a big fan of avocado since 6 years.
- Add the yoghurt and the oil to this mixture and blend once more.
- Apply this mask to your hair and let it sink in and get absorbed for 10-15 mins.
- Rinse with warm water and repeat if you feel any tiny pieces are still in the hair.
I will be making a post soon about the hair packs that can be made with Aloe Vera.
Until then, pamper yourself with these hair masks!
